Your Questions, Answered
-
That’s exactly what the first conversation or session is for.
You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out. I’ll help you understand what’s happening, what to focus on first, and how to move forward in a way that feels realistic.
-
Once you enquire, I’ll ask a few questions about your dog’s age, behaviour, routine, and what you’re needing support with. From there, I can guide you toward the most suitable option, whether that’s private training or classes.
-
Private sessions are best if you need personalised support for behaviour at home, on walks, or in specific situations.
If your dog is reactive, barking, lunging, highly fearful, or struggling around other dogs or people, it’s best to start with a private session first. This allows us to assess what’s happening safely and build the right foundations before considering a group class environment.
Group classes are best for dogs who are ready to learn around other dogs in a structured setting and continue building skills.
-
Your initial session is designed to give you clarity around your dog’s behaviour and help you feel more confident knowing where to start.
It includes a behaviour assessment, discussion around your dog’s history, routine, environment, and current concerns, as well as practical training and management strategies to get started. -
This depends on your dog, the behaviour, and your goals.
Some dogs may only need a few sessions to build foundations and give you a clearer direction. Other behaviours, such as reactivity, anxiety, or long standing habits, often need ongoing support and follow up sessions.
After your initial consultation, I’ll be able to give you a better recommendation based on your dog’s assessment and what support would be most appropriate moving forward.
-
Private sessions usually take place in your home or a suitable local environment, depending on what you need help with. This allows us to work with your dog in the environment where the behaviour is actually happening.
-
Yes, puppies can start Puppy School before they are fully vaccinated, as long as they have had their first vaccination and are healthy, bright, and free from any signs of illness.
Before attending, you’ll need to provide proof of your puppy’s first vaccination.
